The Coles County Clerk’s Office campaign race: It has been a pleasure to witness a political campaign race in which both candidates have avoided negative campaigning and, instead, have focused on their character and readiness for the position. While we have known both candidates for many years, our personal testimony favors Julie Coe for one distinguishing reason: her years of experience in the county clerk’s office.
For over fifteen years while our children have grown up together, we have personally known Julie to be nothing other than courteous, kind and selfless. Strongly influenced by her parents, the late Jim and Joanie Coffey, her deeply rooted family values and faith-based convictions manifest in her ‘Golden Rule’ treatment of others. County voters should expect to receive the same from their next County Clerk and its office employees.
As the county’s election authority for our citizens and its guardian of thousands of vital records, the County Clerk’s accountability requires a maturity level that comes from experience. With over five years of experience in the Coles County Clerk’s Office and currently serving as its Chief Deputy, Julie knows full well of the rigors and responsibilities required of the position. We believe that it is important to elect someone who already has the experience and preparation needed to immediately provide the same reliability and dependability that our citizens have come to expect from the Coles County Clerk’s Office -- Julie Coe.
