ARCOLA – Okaw Valley picked up a 55-50 win over Cerro Gordo at the Little Okaw Valley Conference Tournament on Tuesday.
Wesley Thompson netted 13 points while teammate Garrett Sparks sank 10 for the Timberwolves.
In other action at the LOVC Tournament, Villa Grove squeaked by Atwood-Hammond 53-51.
Okaw Valley, 9-11, is to play the winner of Game 10: Martinsville (11) vs. Arcola (8) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Arcola wins game in second half
ARCOLA—The Purple Riders won their quarterfinal match against Martinsville 61-46 Tuesday in the Little Okaw Valley Conference basketball tournament. Arcola will face Okaw Valley for the consolation championship Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Junior High gym.
Kollin Seaman led scoring for Arcola with 19 and Nick Hudson also scored in double figures with 16.
Martinsville’s Jake Vincent led all scorers with 20 points and Zach Mulkins added 18.
The Bluestreaks jumped out to a 17-12 lead in the first quarter and led at the half by two, 28-26. Arcola poured it on in the second half, outscoring Martinsville 35-18 for the win.
Arcola improves to 7-12 while Martinsville falls to 0-15. The Bluestreaks are finished in the tournament and host Cerro Gordo for a conference game Tuesday.
