WSS defeats Dieterich
WINDSOR — Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg girls basketball won 37-34 in a close National Trail Conference game against Dieterich on Wednesday.
For the WSS Hatchets, Megan Schlechte was the leader in points with 22 for the game.
WSS is now 10-8 for the season and 3-3 in the NTC. WSS will host South Central on Thursday.
National Trail Tournament set
BEECHER CITY — The annual National Trail Conference girls basketball tournament is set to start Monday with Dieterich taking on South Central at 10 a.m. The 13-game, four-day tournament is to conclude with the championship at 7 p.m. Jan. 20. at Beecher City.
Neoga is the number five seeded team and is to play fourth-seeded Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 2:30 p.m. Monday, while WSS is the sixth-seeded team and is to play third-seeded Effingham St. Anthony at 1 p.m. Monday. WSS beat St. Anthony 41-32 Nov. 30, while Neoga has not played CH/BC.
Altamont is the top-seeded team, while North Clay is seeded second and Brownstown/St. Elmo seventh. Dieterich is seeded eighth and South Central ninth.
St. Anthony has won the tournament the last two seasons, including 47-42 over Altamont last year.
It is the 14th annual tournament and ninth using the current format. From 2004-05 through the 2008-09 season it was a round robin.
Georgetown Note Dame de La Salette defeats Tri-County
GEORGETOWN — Georgetown Notre Dame de La Salette jumped out to a 21-5 lead against Tri-County and didn't let up as Tri-County lost 72-30.
Blake Lee led Tri-County, which fell to 6-12 overall, with 9 points. The Titans are to play host to Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond Friday at Oakland.
CERRO GORDO — Sullivan won its third straight game beating Cerro Gordo/Bement 50-35 in a non-conference game.

The Redskins are to travel to Warrensburg to face Warrensburg-Latham in a Central Illinois Conference game Friday.
Cumberland falls to Dieterich
TOLEDO — The Cumberland boys basketball team went into double overtime were defeated by Dieterich, 75-71, in a non-conference game on Tuesday night.
For the Pirates, Tyson Magee led with 25 points and Zach Wolke with 28 points.
Cumberland is now 10-6 for the season and will play an away game against Neoga on Friday at 7:45 p.m.
Martinsville falls to North Clay
LOUISVILLE — Martinsville boys basketball took a hard fall against North Clay of 86-53 in a non-conference game on Tuesday.
For the Bluestreaks, Dalton Rollings was the leader in points with 30 points for the night.
Martinsville is now 4-13 for the season and will host Danville Schlarman on Tuesday.
