BURLINGTON, Iowa — The Lake Land men's basketball team played two games in Iowa this weekend at Southeast Iowa Community College. Lake Land won Friday's game 89-83 but lost Saturday's game 97-81. Lake Land is 6-2 on the season and plays at home against Wabash Valley on Wednesday.
On Friday, Lake Land fell behind 45-39 to Danville Area Community College, but scored 50 points in the second half and held Danville to 38 points after the half to pull out an 89-83 win.
Josh Robinson returned from an injury and scored 23 points and was 11-of-14 from the free throw line. Kasey Elam came off the bench and scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds. Dazon Farris added 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Amel Kuljuhovic scored nine points and had six rebounds, and Tra Landers had six rebounds.
On Saturday against Henry Ford College, the Lakers fell behind again, this time 46-33 at halftime. Again, Lake Land had a better second half with 48 points, but allowed 51 points after halftime and lost 97-81.
Kevin Williams scored 22 points and was 10-of-11 from the free-throw line. He had a team-high eight rebounds. Robinson had 13 points and four assists, and Allante Harper had 13 points. Dazon Farris had 12 points and four assists. Kevonte Williams had six rebounds and six points.
