MATTOON (JG-TC) — The Lake Land women's basketball team hosts Lincoln Land in a key Region 24 matchup at 6 p.m on Wednesday and Laker Fieldhouse.

Lake Land comes into Wednesday's game with a 5-4 record, but have lost their last three games, which include region opponents Lewis & Clark and Lincoln College. Lake Land is 1-2 in the Region after beating Danville Area Community College on Nov. 18.

Lincoln Land is 5-3 on the season and have won their last three games. It's the first region game of the season for Lincoln Land.

Both teams feature a good amount of local players. Lake Land has Koty Crowder and Aislinn Parish from Charleston High School, Avery Jackson and Mariah Spurgeon from Mattoon High School, Jaycie Roy from Neoga High School and Jamie Sandschaefer from Teutopolis High School. Lincoln Land has Molly Smith and Shelby Thompson from Teutopolis High School.

Jackson leads Lake Land with 18.7 points and 5.1 assists per game, Crowder is averaging 16.9 points per game and Sandschaefer is averaging 9.6 points per game. Roy is averaging 8.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.

For Lincoln Land, freshman Madison Jones leads them with 17 points per game. Hannah Krukewitt is averaging 11 points per game and Smith is averaging 10 points per game.
