NORMAL — Casey-Westfield junior Jae Lynn Riggleman made a total of five out of 15 3-pointers in the girls basketball Country Financial Queen of the Hill Three-Point Contest Saturday at Redbird Arena. Riggleman made one on the first rack of five basketballs and two of five from the top of the key and the left wing, good for fourth place overall.
Riggleman was the Class 2A champion. The other three champions, Class 1A (Logyn Little of West Central), Class 3A (Dunlap's Kai Koehler) and Class 4A (Margaret Whitley of Geneva) all made 8-of-15. In the tiebreaker, Whitley made 6-of-10, while Little and Koehler made 5-of-10 to give Whitley the Queen of the Hill.
Riggleman, who was 16-of-60 (27 percent) from 3-point range during the season for the Lady Warriors, ended the completion making a total of 47-of-95 (.500), including 11-of-20 (.55) in tiebreakers. The 16 3-pointers during the season were second on the team.
Riggleman was the third girl in the JG-TC area to compete in the Queen of the Hill completion, joining Tri-County's Shayne Smith (Class 1A) in 2014-15 and Cumberland's Katie Poe (Class 2A) in 2012-13.
