NEW ORLEANS, La. (EIU) -- For the third-straight week Eastern Illinois women's cross country has been ranked in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Rankings as the Panthers are 15th again this week.
EIU did not compete last weekend and will be in action this Saturday at the Greater Louisville Classic which will feature several regionally and nationally ranked teams.
In the Panthers’ last meet at the Bradley Intercollegiate senior Maria Baldwin posted her second consecutive second place finish of the season with a time of 17:07.4 on the 3-mile course. Baldwin earned OVC Female Runner of the Week honors for her performance.
Freshman Kate Bushue was ninth in the event with Ali Gutt and Grace Rowan both finishing in the top 20 for EIU.
Iowa State moved up to first in the regional rankings marking the third straight week with a different number one team in the Midwest poll. Minnesota dropped to second with Oklahoma State, Missouri and Kansas in the top five. Northwestern was sixth with Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tulsa and Northern Illinois in the top ten. Illinois was 11th followed by Iowa, Bradley, Northern Iowa and Eastern Illinois in the top fifteen.
