NAPERVILLE – Millikin's Gerald Perry and Wyatt Fox and Carthage's Shawntrel Garner were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Football Players of the Week for September 11.
Fox, a junior punter from Shelbyville (Business Management major), had seven punts for 291 yards (41.6 average) during the Big Blue's 28-26 win over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Three of his punts landed inside the 20-yard line and Fox's longest punt went for 51 yards. Fox is 6-4 205 pounds and has eight punts this season for the 2-0 Big Blue with an average of 41.2 yards overall.
Casey-Wesfield grad and a 6-0 180 pound junior quarterback has 21 carries for 185 yards and has completed 36 of 64 passes for 668 yards and 10 touchdowns with no interceptions. Jordan Smith, a 6-4, 195 pound sophomore wide receiver and a Shelbyville grad has six receptions for 145 yards and three touchdowns, while Sulllivan grad Bryce Farris, a 5-9, 200 poiund freshman has four catches for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Millikin is to play host to North Park at 1 p.m. Sept. 23 in a CCIW game.
