PANA—Freshman Hannah Harpster shot a 44 Monday at the Oak Terrace Golf Club to earn medalist honors and lead Charleston to a team score of 185, good for first place in the triangular. Sullivan had a 213 for third place.

Lady Trojans Paige Chappell, Haley Walker and Bailey Taylor also shot in the 40’s with 45, 47 and 49, respectively.

“Putting was a little rough tonight,” said Charleston coach Deb Landsaw. “Paige and Hannah know they can score lower, we just need to get focused.”

Addison Darush and Alexis Britton led Sullivan with low scores of 51.

Charleston, now 6-1, hosts Teutopolis and Sullivan at the Charleston Country Club on Tuesday.

Mattoon takes second

EFFINGHAM—Mattoon’s girls’ golf team took second in a triangular hosted by Teutopolis at the Effingham Country Club on Tuesday with a 213. Teutopolis won the meet with a team score of 205.

Lady Wave sophomore Kira Wolf took medalist honors with a 39.

Mattoon improves to 6-4 and travels to Mahomet Lake of the Woods on Tuesday.
