Shelbyville defeats Cumberland

TOLEDO (JG-TC ) — Shelbyville outscored Cumberland 16-4 in the third quarter of Monday's non-conference girls' basketball game and went on to win 39-24. 

Shelby Barnhart and Rheannah Donald led the Lady Rams with 15 and 12 points each. Barnhart scored all 15 of her points in the final three quarters. 

Cumberland had five players finish with four points each, while Jessi Shobe had a team-high six rebounds and Libby Dunaway had three assists. 

The Lady Pirates, 1-8, are to play host Neoga on Monday December 11.

The Lady Rams, 2-7, are to play host to Tuscola Thursday in a Central Illinois Conference game. 

Casey-Westfield defeats Robinson

ROBINSON — Casey-Westfield girls’ basketball led Robinson just 7-6 after the opening quarter before outscoring the Lady Maroons 16-3 in the second quarter en route to a 47-17 Little Illini Conference win. 

Jae Lynn Riggleman and Myriah Warner led Casey with 24 and 12 points respectively. 

Casey-Westfield, 3-3, is to play host to Palestine/Hutsonville Tuesday in a non-conference game. 

Benning scores 27 as Okaw Valley hands AOC first loss

ARTHUR -- Okaw Valley's Bella Benning scored a game-high 27 points to help the Lady Timberwolves give Arthur Okaw Christian its first loss 50-24 Monday.

Natalie Jeffers and Paige Robinson were also in double digits for Okaw Valley with 11 and 10 points respectively.

Benning hit four of her five three-pointers in the first half as she had 18 points at the half, while Robinson had six of her points in the third quarter. The Lady Timberwolves led 28-14 at halftime before outscoring the Conquering Riders 14-1 in the third quarter.

Savannah Spitz led AOC with 11 points.

Okaw Valley, 7-2 is to play host to Altamont Thursday, while AOC, 5-1, is to play host to Buffalo Tri-City Thursday.

Neoga defeats South Central in NTC

FARINA — Neoga girls’ basketball team traveled to South Central won 52-18 on Monday in a National Trail Conference game. 

Blair Benning led Neoga, who outscored the Lady Cougars in every quarter.

Neoga improves to 7-3 and 3-0 in the National Trail Conference.

The Lady Indians play next at Cumberland on Monday Dec 11.

Middle two quarters help AOC

ARTHUR -- Savannah Spitz led Arthur Okaw Christian with 10 points and the Conquering Riders outscored Normal Calvary Christian 16-5 in the middle two quarters en route to a 45-18 win Saturday.
