SHELBYVILLE—The Shelbyville volleyball team defeated Pawnee in two sets Tuesday in a non-conference match 25-19, 25-17.
Shayla Darnell led the Lady Rams with 12 digs and seven kills. Elizabeth Bowyer got four blocks and Mallorie Mason had 18 assists.
“Pawnee was a great defensive team,” said Shelbyville coach Amy Russell. “They pushed us to stay with the long rallies and find that opportunity to score. This is something that I feel we’ve been working on all season, but this was a good team to have it come together against. Tonight we were very tough at the service line and our service receive was close to the goal that we need to have each night.”
Shelbyville improves to 15-6 and hosts Sullivan for a Central Illinois Conference match Thursday.
