COLORODO SPRINGS, Colo. — The 11-3 Lake Land women’s basketball team, coached by Dave Johnson, moved into the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association Division II ranks. The Lady Lakers are No. 16 in the most recent poll.
Two other teams that have played Lake Land are also ranked as Illinois Central College, a team the Lady Lakers lost to 63-50 Nov. 14 and Lake Michigan College, a team it lost to 69-63 are No. 8 and No. 9 respectively.
Lake Land, winners of 10 straight games, is to play host to Southwestern Illinois College, the No. 17 team in NJCAA Division I, at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in a Great Rivers Athletic Conference game. The Lady Lakers winning streak started Nov. 26 with a 92-44 win over Kankakee Community College.
