BETHANY -- Okaw Valley High School Student Council has announced their annual Homecoming Week from September 5-9. The overall theme to this year’s festivities is “Harry Potter”. Each day will highlight a special theme at OVHS and students are encouraged to participate accordingly.

The week kicks off with Tuesday as the students will dress for “Quidditch Team Day”, where they will be encouraged to wear their favorite team jersey. Wednesday’s theme is “Defend Your House Day” with the “Powder Puff” football games beginning at 11:40 a.m. followed by the “Powder Tuff” volleyball games.

Thursday is “Weasley Day” where students will dress as twins. Thursday evening beginning at 7 p.m. there will be a Fall Sports Rally on the OVHS football field that will highlight the Marching Timberwolves along with introducing the fall sports teams. The rally will end with a Victory March to the bonfire. All OV and SOV supporters are encouraged to attend this spirited event. Friday is “SOV Spirit Day.”

The classes will compete with homecoming float building during the day along with a school wide luncheon. Other events on Friday will include the annual homecoming parade at 3 p.m. (line up at 2:30 behind the high school). This year’s parade will be using the same route as the Bethany Celebration. The Varsity SOV football game will begin at 7 p.m. on the Sullivan High School football field. The SOV Jr. Varsity football team will play Monday evening at 6pm on the Okaw Valley High School football field.

All week students will be participating in window decorating at area downtown businesses, float planning/organizing, and various competition activities. The week concludes on Saturday with the crowning of the 2017 Homecoming King and Queen at 7:45 p.m. with a dance following from 8-11 p.m., in the Okaw Valley High School gym. Students from Okaw Valley High School and Sullivan High School are invited to attend the dance. There will be a $5 admission fee.
