EFFINGHAM -- Members of a nonprofit governing board volunteer their expertise and time to improve the organization they serve, but are often too busy to attend lengthy strategic planning sessions. The upcoming training session with Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation will guide nonprofit leaders to develop a short strategic planning session that will engage the board and be beneficial to the organization.
Attendees will receive examples of an online pre-strategic planning survey, a strategic planning agenda, visioning exercises and more. An action plan template will also be provided.
The Strategic Planning training is scheduled for Thursday, January 31 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Roy Schmidt Honda (1705 W Fayette Avenue, Effingham). The cost of this event is $15 for Forefront members ($25 for non-members). To register, visit www.enrichingourcommunity.org/Events.
