CHARLESTON -- The Past-Forward Memoir Writers and Eastern Illinois University’s Academy of Lifelong Learning are teaming up to offer a free e-publishing workshop.

It will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, April 26, at the Charleston Carnegie Public Library. Register through the Academy at 217-581-5114.

Mary Maddox, an experienced publisher in Charleston, will lead the workshop designed for writers considering publishing their work online. Topics covered will include helping develop the best route toward your goal, clarifying your objectives, identifying resources at your disposal, costs involved including time, money and expertise needed. Helpful information on options such as paying a publisher, available assistance, contracting services, or DIY will be on the agenda. Additionally, Maddox will offer insight into preparing an electronic manuscript and the drawbacks and advantages of e-publishing.
