EFFINGHAM -- The Effingham Public Library will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the local beer brewing industry with a tour of Effing Brew Company at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 24.

Effing Brew Company is Effingham’s first microbrewery and is located at 221 West Jefferson Ave. in downtown Effingham.

The Effing Brew Company offers a variety of old-world and handcrafted beers that are brewed on site. Brews include specialized beers, seasonals and more.

“As Effingham’s first microbrewery, Effing Brew Company has been a point of interest for not only locals, but also visitors to our community,” said Programming Outreach Manager Catherine Bailey. “The beer brewing tour will give those interested a chance to learn about the local brewery and to learn about the craft of brewing.”

Effing Brew uses a direct fire 7 Barrel SS Brewtech stainless brewhouse, along with five 7 barrel fermenters and one stainless steel Brite tank. The equipment is showcased in the main dining area of the pub.

“The tour will both be entertaining and educational,” added Bailey.

Registration is required for this event.
