Guns Save Life to meet

CHARLESTON — The monthly meeting of Guns Save Life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, in the banquet room at the Unique Suites Hotel, 920 W. Lincoln Ave.

All meetings are open to the public and are family friendly. An optional dinner buffet, prepared by the Brickhouse Restaurant, will be available at 6 p.m. No reservations are necessary.

The scheduled main speaker will be Randy Ervin, retired Police Chief of Lake Land College, who will talk about his research on gun violence and school safety.

There will be legislative updates, a 50/50 drawing, a drawing for a S&W M&P Shield 9mm pistol, and additional drawings for attendees. Tickets will also be available for additional drawings at future dates and at other GSL meetings, including a special drawing for a Ruger SAA .357 revolver, custom designed and built by one of the last world class exhibition shooters and gunsmith, Bill Oglesby.
