Ernie Banks

The first jersey number retired by the Chicago Cubs was No. 14, belonging to Ernie Banks, in 1982.  Affectionately known as Mr. Cub, Banks is the team's all-time leader in games played (2,528), at-bats (9,421), and total bases (4,706). The Cubs have also retired Ron Santo's No.10; Ryan Sandberg's No. 23; Billy Williams No.26; and Greg Maddux's and Fergie Jenkins' No. 31.
