MATTOON -- Rural King recently donated and delivered 456 bags of sunflower seeds to the library at Williams Elementary School in Mattoon.

Students in grades kindergarten through fifth will use the sunflower seeds for a class project based on a book that they have been reading -- "The World According to Humphrey," by Betty G. Birney. The class project included a family night event with a "Humphrey" theme at the school.

"The World According to Humphrey" follows the life of a sunflower-loving, classroom pet hamster who transforms the lives of children and adults when he enters their classroom, homes, and hearts. Rural King reported that it is proud to have the opportunity to make learning more fun for children of all ages, as they are the future of their communities.
