Financial planning will be the topic of the March 15 meeting for Women in Agriculture. This meeting is a continuation of the outreach for women in agriculture that was started in 2016 through the “Annie’s Project -- Education for Farm Women."
University of Illinois Extension and Coles County Farm Bureau are joining forces to present this opportunity to women involved in agriculture in Coles and surrounding counties. The guest speaker will be Renia Holley, a financial adviser from Country Financial in Neoga.
Women’s roles on farm operations have changed over the past several decades. Today women are taking a more active management role in family farm operations. In fact, a woman now manages one out of every seven farms. The March financial planning meeting will be the first in a series of quarterly meetings planned for 2018 for women in agriculture.
This presentation is a discussion-based seminar bringing women together to learn from experts and share their experiences. The “Financial Planning” seminar on March 15 will begin at 6:30 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m..
The meeting will take place at Lake Land College, Mattoon, in Room 123 in the West Building. There is no cost to attend. Register by March 14 online at http://web.extension.illinois.edu/ccdms/ .
