EFFINGHAM -- In His Hands Orphans Outreach plans its fourth annual Effingham Celebration Banquet which on March 2 at Christ’s Church, 2511 S. Veterans Drive.
An evening is planned with dinner, entertainment, and testimonies, and the organization is excited to share the evening with all who are interested.
Through contributions, In His Hands has been able to meet the needs of orphans worldwide and to actively help many children come home to forever families. During the past year, financial support has made it possible to do many things at In His Hands Haiti, including the completion of a pavilion along with a full kitchen for preparing meals for 42 orphans, building a guest house for mission teams of up to 36 people to stay in; 60 Haitians were given jobs either caring for our children or doing on-site construction, 31 Haitians were helped to start businesses so that they can afford to better care for their families and 14 mission teams served during 2017.
In His Hands sent two mission trips to an orphanage in China to give the 75 orphans extra love and attention and to encourage the nannies. In the United States, donations helped women in crisis pregnancies and children in foster care, and helped families to bring their children home through resources and adoption grants.
All are invited to join with the organization to change the lives of orphans. This year, donations will be used toward the construction of another orphan home in Haiti and purchase of additional land for a trade school, the purchase of Jenny’s House, a maternity home for women in crisis pregnancies here in Illinois, and Thrive Harbor, a new project in China for orphans with thalassemia and those who have aged out of orphanages.
The banquet is a major fundraiser for In His Hands, and allows the organization to continue to serve parentless children in the US and abroad. The banquet will be held on Friday, March 2, at Christ’s Church in Effingham. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the evening’s events will begin promptly at 6:30.
