Alpha Upsilon gives cookies to police

MATTOON -- On May 14, members of the Alpha Upsilon Sorority presented boxes of cookies to the officers of the Mattoon Police Department.

In recognition of Law Enforcement Week each May, the Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha present these treats in appreciation of the dedication of the police officers to the citizens of Mattoon and the surrounding area.

The sorority has been donating cookies to local law enforcement departments for more than 40 years.

Alpha Upsilon is an international philanthropic organization that works for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Easter Seals, Camp New Hope and many other local civic projects.
