Craig -- 50th
CHARLESTON -- Jim and Carolyn Craig will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday. They are planning a week's trip with their family to Pigeon Forge, Tenn. in honor of their marriage.
They are the parents of Kyle (Jeniffer) Rodriguez-Craig of Ossining, N.Y.; Gayle Bender of Columbus, Ohio; and Dan (Ellen) Mays-Craig of Oakwood, Ohio. They also have three grandchildren.
Mr. Craig served two years in the Army, one in Vietnam. After graduating from EIU he was employed with the corporate offices of Marathon Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio where he worked for 34 years.
Mrs. Craig was first employed as a legal secretary at The Reasor Corporation in Charleston, then she became a stay-at-home mother after moving to Findlay. Later, she returned to work at a law firm there.
While living in Ohio they created and co-directed a five-day family Church Camp that is still in existence 35 years later. After retirement, they both moved back to Charleston in 2003. He is active with Charleston Habitat For Humanity and the Five Mile House Historical Society. She volunteers and is on the board for Standing Stone Community Center.
