MATTOON -- Mona Lee Healy, age 79, of Mattoon passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral services honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2018 at First Christian Church, 1600 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938 with Pastor Steve Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Schilling Funeral Home.
Mona was born on July 10, 1938 in Mattoon the daughter of Ed and Evlyn (Lilley) Horn. She married Thomas “Tom” Francis Healy on December 12, 1970. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2014.
Survivors include her children, Debra Shaw of Mattoon, IL, Bill (Staci) Horn of Edmond, OK, Angie (Butch) Hamilton of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Cherae Shaw, Tanisha Shaw, Timmy Shaw Jr., Aleamia (Brandon) Roberts, Adam Hamilton, Ryan (Rachel) Horn, Janelle (Kyle) Green, Skylar Horn, Garrett Horn, Haley Horn; great grandchildren, Keiya, Michaela, Kenneth Charles, Boston, Christopher, Caine, Will, Evelyn, Emma, Marshall and Maxwell; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Ronnie Horn.
Mona was a member of First Christian Church in Mattoon. She was past Vice President of The Rebekah Assembly of Illinois and a member of the Ladies of the Moose. Mona worked for many years as the Administrator for a Halfway House in Chicago. She loved horses and enjoyed her needlework, spending time with her many friends and family and especially doting on her grandchildren who knew her as Nana. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
