MATTOON -- Wanda E. Ingle, age 94, of Mattoon, IL, passed at 8:00 P.M. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Mattoon Health Care Center.
The funeral service in her honor will be held at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, located at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938, with Pastor Matthew Froeschle officiating. Burial will follow at Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Wanda was born January 18, 1923 in Janesville, IL, the daughter of Herschel and Rosa (Tracey) Richards. She married Lawrence R. Ingle on May 22, 1947 in Charleston, IL. She is survived by her four children; two daughters, Nancy Rihs and husband James of Indiana, PA, Susan Laley and husband Richard of Tuscola, IL; two sons, Daniel Ingle and wife Claudia of Herrin, IL, Richard Ingle and wife Brenda of Mattoon, IL; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Delores Sell of Mattoon, IL, and Shirley Elder of Sullivan, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Wanda was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mattoon, IL, for over fifty years, where she was an active volunteer and member of the Ladies Circle. She had many achievements that she was quite proud of, such as TOPS Queen, KOPS, and member of the Mattoon Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She loved cooking for friends and family, doing crossword puzzles, traveling with her husband, and enjoying time with her children and grandchildren.
