Wood named to dean's honor list

HAYS, Kan. -- Nicholas Avery Wood, a freshman majoring in finance (financial planning), is among the 1,607 named by Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kan., to the dean's honor roll for the fall 2017 semester.

The dean's honor roll includes undergraduate students only. To be eligible, students must have completed 12 or more credit hours and earned a minimum grade point average of 3.60 for the semester. Full-time on-campus and FHSU Virtual College students are eligible.

Jerdan named to college dean's list

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kendra Jerdan, Mortuary Science, Mattoon, has recently been named as eligible for the fall semester dean’s list at Des Moines Area Community College.

To be eligible, a student must have completed a minimum of six credits and earned a 3.5 to 3.99 grade point average for that semester.

Spears named Student of the Month

SHELBYVILLE -- Brett Spears has been named Student of the Month for January at Shelbyville High School.

Spears is the son of Steve and Stacey Spears. He has a GPA of 3.87 and is currently ranked 17th in his class. His high school extracurricular activities includes football, basketball, baseball, track and field, WYSE Team and Principal's Cabinet.

Spears plans to attend Indiana State University to earn a bachelor's degree in criminology and criminal justice.

Millikin announces fall 2017 dean's list

DECATUR -- The following students were named to the dean's list at Millikin University for fall 2017:

Haylie Lading, College of Arts & Sciences, Senior, Biology: Allied Health; Karlie Lading, College of Professional Study, Senior, Nursing.

Mattoon

Emily Bacino Althaus, College of Fine Arts, Freshman, Musical Theatre; Cooper Collings, College of Arts & Sciences, Senior, Biology; Kelsey Farmer, College of Professional Study, Junior, Elementary Education.

Students who attempt 12 graded credits during a fall or spring semester and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher earn dean's list honors. Students earning a perfect 4.00 grade point average on 12 graded credits attempted earn High Dean's List honors.

Davis named to president's list

OXFORD, Ohio -- Marc Davis was named to the Miami University fall 2017 president's list.

Davis, from Tuscola, is earning a B.S. in business majoring in finance.

Miami University students who are ranked in the top 3 percent of undergraduate students within each division for first semester 2017-18 have been named to the president's list recognizing academic excellence.

Area students named to dean's list at Olivet

BOURBONNAIS -- Olivet Nazarene University congratulates all students named to the dean's list during the fall 2017 semester. Area students who achieved this honor include Eunice Perez of Arcola.

To qualify for inclusion on the dean's list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.
