LAKE FOREST -- The Church of St. Mary in Lake Forest provided the location for the marriage of Audra Louise Ferguson of Chicago, formerly of Mattoon, to Philip Richard Persino of Chicago, formerly of Crystal Lake, on Oct. 21, 2017.
The bride is the daughter of C. Steve and Melissa Ferguson of Mattoon. The groom is the son of Dr. Richard and April Persino of Crystal Lake.
Father Michael Grzesik and Father Jeremy Trowbridge officiated the double ring ceremony.
Scripture readings were provided by the father of the groom and father of the bride.
Organist for the ceremony was John Chapman. Music selections included Processional --"Arioso" (J.S. Bach), "Trumpet Tune in D" (Purcell); Music during service --"The Gift of Love" (arr. Hobson), "Panis Angelicus" (Franck), "Ave Maria" (Gomez); Recessional --"Hornpipe" (Handel).
Decorations included burgundy mums at the altar and ivory tulle with baby's breath on pews.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory trumpet style full length lace gown with long sleeves and cathedral length veil and carried a bouquet of peach colored roses and apricot colored calla lilies with fall mums.
Matron of Honor was Jeana (Wamsley) Craft, friend of the bride, Mattoon. The bridesmaids were Sasha Kaplan, friend of the bride -- Chicago; Abby Ferguson, sister-in-law of the bride -- Clarendon Hills; Ashley Persino, sister-in-law of the groom -- Madison, Wisc.; Isabella Persino, sister of the groom -- Crystal Lake; Kat (Clausing) Berghofer, friend of the bride -- Addison, Texas; Jillian Hawkins, friend of the bride -- Springfield; junior bridesmaid was Mallory Short, cousin of the bride -- Lincoln. They wore burgundy gowns and carried bouquets of burgundy and pink roses with fall mums.
The best man was Dr. Anthony Persino, brother of the groom of Madison, Wisc. The groomsmen were Tyler Ferguson, brother of the bride -- Clarendon Hills; Pat Houk, friend of the groom -- Crystal Lake; Chris Esposito, friend of the groom -- Crystal Lake; Dr. Ryan Dwyer, friend of the groom -- Chicago; Philipp Weber, friend of the groom -- Munich, Germany; Joey Pinkl, friend of the groom -- Cincinnati, Ohio; and Nick Maier, friend of the groom -- South Beloit.
Ringbearers were Cai and Clay Carpenter, children for whom bride was a nanny; parents, Tiffany and Andy Carpenter of Northfield.
A dinner and dance reception was held at Illinois State Beach State Park Resort, Zion.
The bride has a Bachelor of Arts in Acting and Music Education from Illinois State University and is employed at the University at Buffalo, office of research and graduate education, administrative assistant. She is also a member of the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus --soprano.
The groom has a Bachelor of Science, Northern Illinois University; Masters of Science, Northern Illinois University; and a Doctor of Medicine, Rosalind Franklin University, Chicago School of Medicine. He is currently a Doctor--Otolaryngology residency, at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine, Buffalo, New York.
The couple took a honeymoon in May 2018, following groom's completion of medical school--to San Francisco and Coronado Island, Calif.
They reside in Tonawanda, New York.
