Catholic Schools Week pancake breakfast to be held

MATTOON -- St. Mary's Parent-Teacher Guild will be hosting their annual pancake breakfast to kick off Catholic Schools Week from 8 a.m.-noon Sunday. Pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, coffee, milk, and juice will be available. Goodwill donations will be accepted.

Vision Sunday to be held at Praise Assembly

CHARLESTON -- Join Praise Assembly of God, 1300 Osage Road, from 10:15 a.m.-1 p.m. for Vision Sunday 2018.

Sundae Night to be held at Martinsville Bible Church

MARTINSVILLE -- Awana Clubbers created sundae recipes and brought them to Awana on Jan. 24. This Sunday night from 6-7:30 p.m. at Martinsville Bible Church they will try to recreate some of the most unique and tasty ideas.

Church announces upcoming prayer emphasis, film screening

MATTOON -- Mattoon East Side Church of the Nazarene will be showing the movie “War Room” at 6 p.m. Sunday. This will be followed up with the five- week Bible Study beginning on Sunday nights, beginning on Feb. 18 through March 18, coinciding with the Lenten season. 

Anyone is welcome to attend the movie showing and the Bible Study. If you would like to order a book for the study, they are $8 and organizers need to know by Jan. 29 when they place the order.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study to be held

Worship center to host annual Gathering For Women

MATTOON -- Mattoon Family Worship Center will host the annual Gathering for women on Feb. 9 and 10. Women from around the world will come together to watch the livestream gathering from Austin, Texas, to be reminded why following God and making disciples matters.

The Friday night session will run from 6-9 p.m., and Saturday’s session will run from 9 a.m. - noon, and from 2-5 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday. This event is free and open to the public regardless of church affiliation.
