CHARLESTON — Charleston Com2, a leader in CRT Glass and electronics recycling and Charleston County Market are hosting a free electronics recycling event to encourage the community to recycle electronics.
The event will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, in the County Market parking lot located at 551 West Lincoln, in Charleston.
Together County Market and COM2 are providing area residents with convenient access to an electronics recycling method that protects the environment and safeguards their personal data.
COM2 Recycling Solutions is an electronic recycler and pioneer in CRT Glass processing in North America.
Located in Carol Stream, Illinois COM2 is one of the nation’s first electronic recyclers approved for both BAN e-Steward and R2 standards compliance certification. COM2 Recycling is an ISO 14001, 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certified recycler.
This e-waste collection event is set will be set up as a drive-through and drop off event. Staff will be on hand to collect items from community member’s vehicles.
COM2 Recycling Solutions can accept the following: computers, laptops, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, copiers, Fax machines, postage meters, vacuum cleaners, cameras, camcorders, cell phones, radios, stereos, phones, CD and DVD players, MP3 Players or portable audio devices, appliances, clocks.
Basically, if it plugs in, it can be taken to the recycle event.
However, COM2 Recycling Solutions is unable to accept liquids, toner cartridges, hazardous materials, cans, bottles, oils, cleaners (liquid), automotive parts, tires, construction materials or paper.
