CASEY -- For 25 years now, the Women’s Visions Circle of the Casey United Methodist Church has hosted a Christmas Cookie Candy Caper that offers holiday treats and other items for only $6 a pound. Many of the items are suitable for freezing.
According to a press release, the 2018 event will be held in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Entrance will be free. Due to successful sales in the past and supplies running out early, the Women’s Visions Circle has considerably increased the number of cookies offered.
The event has always included a Frosty’s Flea Market holiday sale at which shoppers can purchase used Christmas decorations in great condition and find other gifts.
In an effort to expand the event, the women began hosting Blitzen’s Breakfast Bonanza a few years ago. The breakfast also will begin at 8:30 a.m. For $5, visitors will dine on breakfast casseroles, fruit salad, and coffee cakes among other homemade pastries and treats. Tickets are $3 for children under 10. Tickets are $6 at the door.
The event's Holiday Shoppe will be open again featuring extra holiday items including select pieces of RADA Cutlery, candles, purses, and other gifts. More information about the event is available by calling Patty Richards at 217-932-5463.
