URBANA -- The 35th annual Champaign County Humane Society GIANT Garage Sale will be in a new venue with a new start time.
“CORE Spaces has generously agreed to loan us the use of the former Rogards, 214 S. Walnut St., Champaign, for this year’s GIANT Garage Sale, and we’re excited for the opportunity to hold our sale at this convenient location where all our wares can be displayed indoors,” said Mary Tiefenbrunn, executive director of CCHS.
Because of the downtown location, the sale will start on May 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. A $5 admission charge that night will be good for entrance on Saturday if the shopper is still wearing the entrance band. The sale continues May 25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a $3 admission charge until 3 p.m. The $3 bag sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on May 26 with the giveaway of leftovers from 12:30 to 2 p.m., with a $1 admission charge.
All proceeds support the work of the Champaign County Humane Society, 1911 E. Main St., Urbana.
Donations to the sale include clothing, books, jewelry, housewares, small appliances, toys, tools, gardening supplies, holiday decorations, sports equipment, animal-care items and other treasures no longer needed.
