It can be challenging to make healthy choices and stay on track with your health and wellness goals. Between the holidays, work, life, and everything in between, it is easy to lose sight of your goals. The Mattoon Area Family YMCA makes it easier, with the help of a registered dietitian from Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Learn about giving healthy, homemade gifts this holiday season on Monday, Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. or Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. with the third presentation in the YMCA’s Nutrition Workshop series. A registered dietitian from the Center for Healthy Living at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System will lead this workshop in the Community Room at the YMCA. A question and answer session will follow the 30 minute workshop. This event is free and open to all.

In January, The Mattoon Area Family YMCA will partner with Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center to offer Nutrition Coaching. A registered dietitian from Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center will help you to establish healthy eating habits and educate you on making healthy choices. Participants may elect to meet with the registered dietitian for one session or for four sessions to receive personalized nutrition guidance.

Whether you are wanting to manage your weight, improve athletic performance, or establish healthy eating habits, Nutrition Coaching at the YMCA may be just what you need to meet your health and wellness goals. Participation in Nutrition Coaching is open to Mattoon Area Family YMCA members only.

If you’re not yet a member, the Mattoon Area Family YMCA has multiple membership options available to suit your needs. In addition to membership options, the Y offers financial assistance with the Membership for All Program. The program works on a sliding fee scale designed to help individuals and families. The application process is simple and quick, and an application can be picked up at the Y’s front desk.

Join the Mattoon Area Family YMCA to stay fit, active, and motivated throughout the holiday season!
