Calling all ballers to the courts! Fall basketball season is gearing up for youth and adults at the Mattoon Area Family YMCA. Registration for the adult 5 on 5 league is open now until October 7th. This is full court basketball played in a 7 week regular season, beginning October 16- December 18th. A single elimination tournament follows the regular season. Games are played on Tuesdays in Neal Gym at the Y and start at 7 pm. Registration is open to both members and non-members of the Y.

Youth Fall Basketball is also gearing up at the Mattoon Area Family YMCA! Youth basketball is divided into two leagues; the Itty Bitty league and the Pee Wee league. Registration is open for both leagues now- October 7th.

Itty Bitty Basketball is for boys and girls in Pre-K and Kindergarten. This league helps to teach children to play as a team as well as getting them started on the fundamentals of the game. Games are held on Friday evenings and there will be a 20 minute practice held before each game. The season will run October 26th- December 14th. Pee Wee Basketball is for boys and girls in grades 1st - 3rd. This league helps to teach children to play as a team as well as getting them started on the fundamentals of the game. Teams will practice one time during the week, with days and times selected by the coach. Games will be played on Saturday mornings. The season will run October 27th—December 15th. We encourage any parent who is interested in coaching Itty Bitty or Pee Wee basketball to please contact Beau Scott, Sports Director, at bscott@mattoonymca.org.

Did you know the Y also has a Membership for All Program, which will also help you with the cost of participating in programs like fall basketball? The application process is simple and the front desk staff is happy to walk you through the process.
