CHARLESTON — Saturday the Mattoon middle school eighth-grade boys track team won the eight-team Little Trojan meet with 111 points, beating Teutopolis by 17 points. 

They were the only area team out of Charleston, Casey-Westfield and Shelbyville to win one of the divisions (seventh-grade boys, seventh-grade girls, eighth-grade boys and eight-grade girls). 

Adding the four together Teutopolis was the overall winner with 404 points, while Mattoon placed second with 303. Shelbyville and Charleston tied for third with 271 points, while Casey-Westfield was sixth with 127 points. 

Teutopolis won the seventh-grade girls with 106 points, while Shelbyville was second with 105. Mattoon was third with 89, while Charleston was fourth with 69 and Casey sixth with 15 points.

Teutopolis won the eighth-grade girls with 94 points, which was 10 more than second place Charleston. Casey was third with 60, while Shelbyville was sixth with 45 and Mattoon seventh with 28 points. 

Shelbyville was second in the seventh-grade boys with 88 points, which was 22 behind Teutopolis. Mattoon was third with 75, while Charleston took fourth with 52 and Casey was eighth with 13 points. 

Charleston earned third in the eighth-grade boys with 69 points, while Casey was fifth with 39 and Shelbyville sixth with 33 points.
