CUMBERLAND COUNTY --A Missouri woman was killed Friday evening in a crash involving two semitrucks that closed westbound Interstate 70 between Casey ad Greenup for more than eight hours.

The Illinois State Police said in a news release that a semitruck driven by Filimon Ghebremehari, 34, of Seattle was traveling westbound in the right lane at slow speed because of a vehicle malfunction.

State Police said a semitruck driven by Melissa Coleman, 41, of Doniphan, Missouri came up on the slower moving vehicle and was unable to avoid the crash. The Coleman vehicle struck the trailer being towed by Ghebremehari vehicle.

State Police said Coleman was ejected from the vehicle. She was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana where she died.
