MATTOON -- Two motorists were injured as the result of a two-vehicle crash at approximately 9:30 a.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 45 at the north entrance to Lake Land College.
Chief Jeff Branson of the Lake Land College Police Department said the collision occurred as the driver of a midsize sport utility vehicle was attempting to turn north from campus onto Route 45. He said SUV pulled into the southbound path of pickup truck on Route 45.
Branson said the pickup struck the driver side of the SUV. He said the female driver of the SUV was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital for treatment of injuries and the male driver of the pickup was taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
