Charleston police

Courtney Kneer of Charleston was in a head-on vehicle collision with Peggy Manley of Charleston at 7:20 a.m. Saturday at 2000 University Drive. Kneer was cited for driving in the wrong lane.

Vehicles driven by Barbara Bergdolt of Paris and Zachary Morgan of Charleston were involved in an accident at 4:16 p.m. Jan. 28 at the intersection of West Lincoln Avenue and Douglas Drive.

Sean Babbitt of La Fontaine, Ind., damaged an awning in the McHugh's drive thru at 1 p.m. Jan. 29 at 4 Lincoln Ave.

Michaela Wagner of Streamwood rear-ended a vehicle driven by Tatyana Leyden of Chicago with her own at 5:30 p.m. Monday at 501 West Lincoln Ave.

Vehicles driven by Zachariah Bovard and Kathy Arthur, both of Charleston, were involved in an accident at 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at 501 Madison Ave.

Robert Hollowell of Charleston hit a slick spot and lost control of his motorcycle at 4:29 p.m. Jan. 31 at 13th Street and Adams Avenue. Hollowell was cited for a violation of classification.

Charleston fire 

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at 2:23 p.m. Wednesday at 1911 18th St. It was set off by an accidental pull station activation.

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at 10:18 p.m. Tuesday at the Hampton building in Eastern Illinois University's University Court. The alarm was set off by burnt food.  

Mattoon fire

Firefighters responded to a car fire at 1:57 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 57 southbound at mile mile marker 186. No injuries were reported. They were on scene for about half an hour.

Firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide leak at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday at 1216 Lafayette Ave., Apt. 3. They were on scene for about 20 minutes.

Firefighters conducted an odor investigation at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Scotty's Brewhouse, 700 Broadway Ave. East. The report of the odor turned out to be unfounded.
