CHARLESTON -- Student holiday music concerts in the Charleston school district are set to start Monday and continue through the following week.

The concerts will begin with the Jefferson Elementary School choir concert at 7 p.m. Monday in the school's gymnasium.

There will be no admission charge to attend but the Charleston Music Boosters organization will be accepting food donations.

There will be no admission charge to attend the district's other concerts but some will include donation collections.

The remaining schedule of the concerts is:

  • The Ashmore Elementary School winter concert, 7 p.m. Tuesday at in the Jefferson Elementary School gym.
  • The Charleston Middle School chorus and advanced chorus winter concert, 7 p.m. Wednesday in the CMS gym.
  • The Carl Sandburg Elementary School third-grade winter concert, 7 p.m. Thursday in the school gym.
  • The Charleston High School and Middle School winter concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 14 in Baker Gym at CHS. A canned food drive will take place and items donated will go to the CHS food pantry.
  • The CHS choral winter concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2206 Fourth St. Donations for the CHS food pantry will be accepted.
  • The Jefferson Elementary School band holiday concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 18 in the school's gym. Donations of food will again be accepted.
