MATTOON -- A Charleston woman and a Flora man were injured in a two-vehicle crash late Thursday morning on U.S. Route 45 in front of Lake Land College.

The Lake Land College Police Department's crash report shows that the two drivers -- Kara M. Kieffer, 18, of Charleston and William W. Butler, 57, of Flora -- were injured when Kieffer's sport utility vehicle exited the north entrance to campus and pulled into the southbound path of Butler's pickup truck.

Crews with the Mitchell-Jerdan Ambulance Service took Kieffer to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana and Butler to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center for treatment of injuries. Condition report information for Kieffer was not available Friday afternoon from Carle. Sarah Bush Lincoln does not release patient condition reports. Kieffer was ticketed for failing to yield.
