CHARLESTON (JG-TC) -- A local man was arrested Monday for an alleged aggravated domestic battery, along with other charges.

According Charleston police, Lamar Moore, 41, allegedly battered a victim and restricted her airflow, preventing the victim from yelling or using her phone to call for help.

Along with aggravated battery, Moore has been charged for unlawful restraint and interfering with 911 communications.

According to police, Moore has had more than four prior convictions. More recently, Moore, whose address on record is an apartment at 1411 Jackson Ave., Apt. 5B, was accused of choking a woman on April 1.

Assistant State's Attorney Rob Scales, who prosecuted the case, indicated that the woman did not want to testify against Moore and she was the only witness to the alleged incident, as previously reported.

Moore has been confined at the Coles County jail as of Tuesday at 1:07 p.m. with no set bond on any of the charges, according to the Coles County Sheriff's Office.
