CHARLESTON (JG-TC) -- A police investigation into a Friday report of burglary of a city residence led to the arrest of a Charleston man. 

According to Coles County Jail records, Jordan S. Hays, 23, was arrested and confined at the jail 3:36 p.m. Saturday for burglary. 

According to a Charleston police press release, police were dispatched to a report of burglary at 1:18 p.m. Friday at 315 Polk Ave. in Charleston.

The victims alleged that items were stolen from the residence at the location, Charleston police report. Those items were later found at a business in Mattoon, the report read.     

The investigation led police to arrest Hays, but Charleston police state that other suspects are "believed" to be involved.

The investigation into the incident is still on going, the report notes.
