MATTOON (JG-TC) -- Police officers have arrested a local man on charges of burglarizing a salon and of possessing methamphetamine.
A Mattoon Police Department press release reported that Hunter C. Brewster, 35, of Mattoon was arrested on charges of possessing meth and driving while license revoked at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of Dewitt Avenue. Brewster was arrested after being stopped by police and he was subsequently taken to the Coles County jail.
After his arrest, police officers spoke with Brewster on Thursday regarding a burglary to Sapphire Salon & Spa in Mattoon. The burglary occurred on Feb. 26, and cash was stolen from the business. Brewster has also been charged with burglary for his alleged role in that incident.
