CASEY (JG-TC) -- A driver was injured as the result of a single-vehicle crash early Sunday evening along Interstate 70 in Clark County.
An Illinois State Police District 12 press release reported that Shanice S. Webb, 29, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, was driving east at 4:28 p.m. at mile post 132, east of Casey, when she lost control of her car and left the roadway to the right. The car then struck the embankment and came to rest in the right ditch.
Webb was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham for treatment of injuries. No injuries were reported for any of her six passengers, which included five juveniles between the ages of 1 and 14. Webb was ticketed for failing to reduce speed/driving too fast for conditions, driving while suspended, failing to wear a seat belt, and two counts of failing to secure a child in a child restraint.
