MATTOON -- There will be some movement at the administrative level at the Mattoon School District.

The school board voted at the meeting Tuesday to employ Jayme Holt, current Williams Elementary School assistant principal, as the Franklin Preschool principal and special education coordinator, taking the place of Lisa Jaco, who is retiring.

Holt has worked in the school district since 2006, first as a school psychology intern at Williams. She served as a school district psychologist, then as the Mattoon Middle School dean of students and finally as the assistant principal at Williams.

The board OK'd Becca Kraft, currently a kindergarten teacher at Riddle Elementary School, to fill Holt's current position at Williams.

Kraft has been a teacher at Riddle for four years, after working as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher for two years in the Tippecanoe School Corporation in West Lafayette, Ind.

And the board voted to employ Jordan Rahar, a teacher at Garfield Montessori Magnet School in Decatur, as the Riddle assistant principal, a position currently held by Amanda Gibson. Gibson will be a district technology coach along with Jeana Craft as the district moves forward with plans to bolster the technology in the buildings and fit students with a tablet or laptop.

Rahar has taught first, second and third grade in the Decatur School District before accepting this role as assistant principal.

This change-up in the leadership at these Mattoon district schools will go into effect in the 2019-2020 school year.
