Try 3 months for $3

MATTOON — The Lake Land College Board of Trustees voted Monday evening to maintain current tuition rates for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Lake Land will keep the current tuition rates of $105.50 per credit hour for students from Lake Land's community college district, $232.96 for out-of-district students, and $426.36 for out-of-state students. A full load is 15 credit hours per semester.

The board also voted to maintain the current activity fee of $2.50 per credit hour and the high school dual credit fee of $18.42 per credit. The service fee will increase from $29 to $29.67 per credit hour as part of an effort to improve the textbook rental program.

In other matters, the boat voted to amend Lake Land's performance contract with the CTS Group of St. Louis to add a well field for the campus geothermal heating and cooling system and to add a maintenance and storage facility. Together, the two projects will cost $1.79 million.

The well field will consist of 143 vertical wells in the southeast grassy area near Neal Hall. The 5,500-square-foot storage facility will be built near the Physical Plant building on the southwest end of campus. This facility will provide a climate-controlled, secure environment for file storage, and dedicated classroom space for the building construction trades program.
