MARTINSVILLE -- The upcoming annual Martinsville Agricultural Fair is set to kick off seven nights of grandstand entertainment on Sunday and six nights of free carnival rides on Monday.
Grandstand events will begin with a community worship service featuring music by Jake Hoult and the Casey United Methodist Church Praise Team at 7 p.m. Sunday. Admission to the fairgrounds and grandstand will be free on Sunday.
The Great Midwest Trot & Pace harness races will both be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the grandstand track.
All of the other grandstand events will be held at 7 p.m. The lineup features flat track drag races, Tuesday; open diesel truck pulls, Wednesday; naturally aspirated tractor pulls, Thursday; children's Barnyard Scramble, June 14; and a demolition derby followed by fireworks, June 15.
With a $7 gate admission per person, the carnival rides will open and be free starting at 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Parking will be free, as well. There will be free entertainment each evening starting at 6 p.m. in the Linn Pavilion at the east end of the midway, next to the Pork Producers stand.
