NEOGA -- Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause of a house fire late Monday evening in Neoga that injured a man.

Assistant Chief Alan Baker said the Neoga Fire Protection District called in the Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office to investigate this fire, which occurred in an attached garage at 737 Franklin St.

Baker said the injured man was ultimately taken to Springfield Memorial Hospital for treatment of burns, adding that he had not received a condition update on this man as of Wednesday afternoon. Baker said this man was the only occupant home at the time of the fire. Authorities have not released the name of the injured man.
