MATTOON -- A vehicle hit a guard rail a little before noon Sunday following the dusting of snow Coles County received early Sunday continuing in the afternoon.

Capt. Ray Hall of the Mattoon Police Department indicated no injuries were reported as a result of the one-vehicle incident at the intersection of I-57 and Route 16, but said it did require a tow.

This collision appears to be the extent of the collisions in the area following the snowfall as of 12:30 p.m. Charleston had no reports of car accidents in the city, Lt. Rick Giordano of the Charleston police said.

According to the National Weather Service at 10:06 a.m., additional snow accumulations of up to one inch forecasted along with ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch. The snowfall was expected to conclude by 2 p.m. Sunday.
