State Police

A Mattoon man was injured Monday when the truck he was driving overturned in Clark County.

Illinois State Police said in news release that Gregory Williams, 62, was westbound on Interstate 70 near mile post 129 when the flatbed trailer he was towing started to fishtail, causing the truck he was driving to run off the road and overturn. The accident happened at 3:45 p.m.

The release said Williams was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. 

Charleston police

Morgan N. Chandler, 26, of Charleston was cited for improper backing after her vehicle hit two parked vehicles at the intersection of Locust Avenue and 13th Street at 7:24 a.m. July 3.

Vehicles driven by Garrett J. Harwood of rural Charleston and Kathy M. Smith of Charleston were involved in an accident at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Fourth Street at 1:57 p.m. Saturday. Harwood, 21, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

A detector malfunction activated an alarm at ERBA Head Start at 697 Windsor Road in Northwest Business Park at 4:36 p.m. Saturday.
