A vehicle left the scene after hitting the vehicle belonging to Sarah E. Bolyard of rural Charleston while it was parked at Walmart, 2250 Lincoln Ave., sometime before 7:14 p.m. Wednesday.

Vehicles driven by Douglas E. Taylor of Ashmore and Carolyn T. Green of Mattoon were involved in an accident in the parking lot of Aldi, 2240 Shawnee Drive, at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Vehicles driven by Terry A. McNamer of Jose L. Garcia, both of Charleston, were involved in an accident at Seventh Street and Madison Avenue at 4:55 p.m. Saturday. McNamer, 76, left the scene but was located later and cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to yield.

A problem with an electrical ballast activated an alarm at 711 Polk Ave. at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Coles County sheriff
A semitruck driven by Antonio Felder of Milwaukee went into the median and hit a concrete pillar on Interstate 57 at the Illinois Route 16 interchange at 6:38 a.m. Monday.
